The new carpet collection Space is made in collaboration with stylist duo Sundling Kickén and plays with different structures to create a pattern. ”Their Scandinavian design vocabulary is easily recognizable in the carpet, which comes with a mixed structure and is made of 100 percent wool,” says Helene Ogeborg, CEO of Ogeborg.
Since the beginning of the 1960’s, Ogeborg has provided their customers with hand tufted and hand woven high quality carpets and textile floors. With their base in Stockholm, Sweden, they have nurtured many fruitful collaborations throughout the years, with designers such as Alexander Lervik, Luca Nichetto and Claesson Koivisto Rune. The Space collection marks their first collaboration with Sundling Kickén and comes in three different colours; Oyster, Desert and Ivory.
Also launching this winter is three new series within the Ogeborg wool collection: Robust, Kretong and Grain. All the rugs are made of natural uncolored wool.
”The wool comes from Europe and is never completely white, it is a little ‘off’ and very beautiful in its natural shades. The carpets also have a natural, distinct structure,” Ogeborg explains.
Ogeborg have a climate neutral policy and aim to make an impact by investing in third world projects. At the moment they are financing solar cells and photovoltaic energy in various countries in order to accelerate possibilities for education.
”The pandemic has affected our ways of doing business and some projects have been paused, but there is still a high demand for our products from both the private and public sector,” explains Ogeborg.
